Avoid Noisy Areas If Possible
When in noisy places, use earplugs, noise-canceling headphones, or earmuffs. Noise may damage your hearing loss further if it has any of the following characteristics:
- One has to raise their voice more than usual when talking to others
- One cannot hear what people in the nearby group are saying
- When the noise particularly hurts your ears
- When after leaving the place you still have ringing in your ears
When you get exposed to such areas for a long time, it will be harmful to your ears and the hearing loss will get worse.

Be Cautious When Using Earphones
When using earphones, or headphones, always keep the volume low. When listening to music or a podcast, you should turn the music up enough that you can listen to it. However, not too high that you cannot hear your surroundings. Listen to music at 60% and below of the maximum volume. Most devices today have a setting that warns you in case you pass the limit.

In case you undergo sudden hearing loss, please call your doctor immediately. A few treatments may assist reduce the damages and severity of the condition. Early identification by the doctor will be very helpful to effective management.

- If the employees cannot avoid the loud noises, then they should be provided with hearing protective wear.
